James Paxton felt no pain after throwing a 27-pitch bullpen session on Saturday.
Fantasy Implications: The bullpen workout marked the first time Paxton was on a mound since a strained left pectoral muscle
forced his departure from an August 10 start against the Los Angeles
Angels. The 28-year-old left-hander was positive, and claimed, "I had no pain; no issues with my pec. It was a positive
step in the right direction. The timing was a little bit off, but that’s
to be expected." The tentative schedule is for Paxton to throw another bullpen on Tuesday and a simulated game on September 9. If all goes well, Paxton could return to the rotation four or five days later on a build-up basis.
