David Phelps placed on 10-day DL
David Phelps was placed on the 10-day disabled Tuesday after being diagnosed with an impingement in his right elbow. The right-handed reliever is expected to miss approximately two-to-three weeks.
Fantasy Implications: The move allowed the Mariners to clear space on the 25-man roster for the recently acquired Yonder Alonso, who will start against his former team Tuesday night in Oakland. Felix Hernandez to miss three-to-four weeks
Felix Hernandez is expected to miss three-to-four weeks according to Mariners' officials. A doctor's examination on Monday confirms that the 31-year-old right-hander is suffering bursitis in his right shoulder, the same ailment that forced him to miss approximately two months of action earlier this year.
Fantasy Implications: Hernandez' injury comes at an inopportune time for Seattle, and leaves a void in the team's relatively thin starting pitching staff.
