Christian Javier earns win

Christian Javier (2-1) picked up the win, pitching six scoreless innings in Houston's 2-1win against the Mariners on Saturday. He allowed one hit and three walks while striking out five.

Fantasy Implications: Javier's quality start righted the ship from his previous outing when he gave up five earned runs and three homers in Oakland. The 23-year-old right-hander has pitched well otherwise since replacing Justin Verlander in the Astros rotation.  Through 21 1/3 innings, Javier owns a 2.91 ERA and 0.83 WHIP.

Jaroslav Halak Wins in unexpected start

Jaroslav Halak turned aside 29 of 30 shots in Saturday's 3-1 win over the Hurricanes in Game 3.

Fantasy Implications: Halak was called into service when Tuukka Rask unexpectedly announced that he has opted out of the remainder of the playoffs.  The 35-year-old net minder has proved more than capable during the regular season, compiling an 18-6-6 record with a 2.39 GAA and .919 SV% in 31 games before the NHL season paused. He most likely will start every game for the remainder of the playoffs.
