Andrew Moore was recalled by Seattle Friday from Triple-A Tacoma to take the place of James Paxton who was placed on the 10-day disabled list with a strained left pectoral muscle.
Fantasy Implications: Moore, who made his Major League debut with the Mariners earlier this season, was 1-3 in six starts while compiling a 5.65 ERA and 1.15 WHIP. His 3.1 K/9 and 2.7 HR/9 should make fantasy owners leery about inserting the 23-year-old right-hander into their lineups.

Mike Zunino goes hitless Thursday
Mike Zunino went 0-2, striking out once, in the Mariners 6-3 loss to the Angels on Thursday evening. He was lifted for a pinch hitter in the seventh inning.
Fantasy Implications: Zunino has been mired in a terrible slump. The 26-year-old catcher is 2-27 in his last 10 games, slashing a miserable .074/.167/.111 with plenty of swing-and-miss at the plate, striking out 14 times and walking only twice. Zunino hit his last home run on July 28, and has zero RBI and one extra-base hit, a double, in that span. Always known to be a batting average drain to fantasy owners, Zunino has seen his BA drop from .231 to .215.

Jean Segura smacked a solo-homer on Thursday in Seattle's 6-3 loss to the Angels. He also singled and walked once.
Fantasy Implications: Segura deposited a Bud Norris 94 mph four-seam fast ball into the center field seats. It was his seventh homer of the year, and first since July 5. The 27-year-old short stop, who is having a fine campaign, has not displayed the power seen last year. However, batting in the leadoff spot, he has been very productive at the plate and on the base paths. For the season, he is batting .312 with 34 RBI, 57 R, and 16 SB. In the eight August games he has played, Segura has cooled off, slashing .200/.351/.367. However, with an excellent eye (4/6 K/BB), he has scored nine runs and swiped four bags. Continue to keep Segura planted in your fantasy lineups.

Nelson Cruz launches another long ball.
Nelson Cruz deposited a Bud Norris cutter into the center field bleachers for a two-run homer in Seattle's 6-3 loss to the Angels on Thursday night. It was his lone hit in four at-bats.
Fantasy Implications: Cruz continues to stay hot after ending an 0-16 skid on July 29th. In the 11 games he has played since then, the Mariners designated hitter is slashing a whopping .372/.440/.907, while hitting seven HR and 15 RBIs in 43 AB. He has a hit in all one of those games. For the year, Cruz is batting .287 with 27 homers and an American League leading 90 RBIs. Needless to say, he should automatically be inserted into fantasy lineups of all settings.

Edwin Diaz (2-5) struggled Thursday evening when summoned to pitch the ninth inning with the score tied at three against the Angels. Diaz finished the night allowing three runs (all earned) on one hit and three walks while striking out one in two-thirds of an inning. He was credited with the loss.
Fantasy Implications: The 23-year-old flamethrower promptly walked the first two batters he faced. After getting the next two men to ground out into fielder's choices, he walked his third batter to load the bases. That brought Mike Trout to the plate, who ripped an 88.7 mph slider from the closer into left field for a base-clearing double. Diaz was then yanked for Tony Zych to finish the frame. With the poor outing, Diaz saw his ERA rise from 2.90 to 3.40, and his WHIP from 1.15 to 1.21. The youngster has been dominant in the past month, so this should only be considered a blip on the radar. Diaz may have been overworked, as he was called into action for Seattle's last three games in as many nights, and throwing a total of 69 pitches in 2.2 innings. Consider him unavailable for Friday.
