Ben Gamel rediscovers bat

Ben Gamel hit a three-run blast and a two-run single in Seattle's 7-6 loss to the Orioles on Monday. He finished 2-for-4 for the evening, and scored one run.

Fantasy Implications: Gamel has been mired in a deep slump throughout August, batting a gruesome .163/.221..225, including Monday's performance. He has seen his yearly batting average drop from .313 to .287 in that span. In fact, Monday's home run was the first longball that the 25-year-old outfielder has slugged since July 22. Gamel's unsustainable high BABIP prior the All-Star break presaged a negative regression, but not quite this severe. Perhaps yesterday's performance can propel Gamel to a decent homestretch of the season.
