Yonder Alonso goes hitless Friday night

Yonder Alonso went 0-4 Friday night, while striking out once and leaving three men on base in Seattle's 6-5 loss to the Angels. He batted second in the order.

Fantasy Implications: Alonso has been hushed since coming over to Seattle from Oakland in a trade August 6. The 30-year-old first-baseman is only 1-14 with zero runs scored and no RBIs since donning his new uniform. He is expected to be employed on the larger side of a platoon with Danny Valencia. On the year, Alonso has 22 HR, 52 R, 49 RBI and a slash line of .258/.358/.508. He should be useful to owners seeking power in AL-only and deep leagues.
