Nelson Cruz rips a trio of extra-base hits

Nelson Cruz went 3-5 with two RBIs and two runs scored in Seattle's 7-1 win over Tampa Bay Friday night.

Fantasy Implications: Cruz has been absolutely on fire the past few weeks. He extended his hitting streak on Friday to 10 games, and has now hit safely in 17 of his last 18 games played. All three of his hits Friday were for extra-bases, including two doubles and a mammoth solo shot into the upper deck at Tropicana Field, his 30th home run of the year. The 37-year-old designated hitter has ripped nine home runs thus far in August, while seeing his batting average rise from .273 to .289,  and now leads the American League with 98 RBIs. Needless to say, Cruz should be active in all fantasy lineups regardless of format.
