Erasmo Ramirez records win

Erasmo Ramirez (5-4) yielded one earned-run on two hits while walking two and striking out four over six complete innings to earn the win in Seattle's 7-1 victory over the Rays Friday night.

Fantasy Implications: Ramirez has now administered two straight quality starts for Seattle, a huge bonus for the Mariners considering their depleted rotation and over-taxed bullpen. The 27-year-old right-hander was able to escape a bases loaded, one out jam in the second inning by inducing weak fly balks to both Adeiny Hechavarria and Daniel Robertson. Other than that, he was pretty much in control, throwing 57 of his 90 pitches for strikes. Ramirez now sports a 4.52 ERA, driven in part by his inability to miss bats (6.76 K/9), but a fine 1.15 WHIP.  His next scheduled start is Wednesday in Sun Trust Park against the Braves.
