Edwin Diaz banks save

Edwin Diaz worked around a walk, yielding no runs on no hits over an inning of work to collect his 30th save in Seattle's 2-1 victory over the Yankees Friday night. He struck out one.

Diaz was summoned in the 11th inning to protect Seattle's 2-1 lead. He threw 11 of his 20 pitches for strikes. The young fireballer has on occasion lost command of the strike zone, the major reason for his inflated 3.51 ERA. But for the most part, he has been electric. He now sports a quality 1.19 WHIP for the year, and has a stupendous 76 strike outs over 56.1 innings.
