Shawn O'Malley was outrighted to Triple-A Tacoma on Tuesday.
Fantasy Implications: O'Malley, who had been designated for assignment on Saturday, was outrighted to Tacoma today to clear a spot on the 40-man roster for recently acquired infielder Gordon Beckham. This has been a lost year for the 29-year-old utility infielder because of sundry maladies, including an appendectomy, shoulder injury and a concussion. Consequently, he has been only able to play in 33 minor-league games this year, at three different levels of the Mariner's organization. With the Rainiers, O'Malley appeared in 20 games and was only able to muster a feeble .205/.250/.282 slash line.
