Emilio Pagan surrendered a two-run homer to Cameron Maybin in Seattle's 3-1 loss to the Astros Tuesday evening. It was the lone hit he allowed over two-thirds of an inning. He walked none and struck out none.
Fantasy Implications: Pagan was summoned with one out in the seventh inning after James Pazos walked Brian McCann. Maybin, the first batter Pagan faced, blasted a 94 mph over the left-center field wall for a two-run homer which proved to be the game winner (and Houston's first hit of the game), thereby saddling Pazos with the loss. Pagan has now yielded an earned run in each of his last four appearances. Yet his 8.4 K/9 and 1.7 BB/9 over that span still bodes well for the 26-year-old reliever. He sports an acceptable 3.24 ERA and an excellent 0.96 WHIP for the campaign. Pagan holds fantasy value only in deep leagues that count holds.
