Jean Segura went 3-for-5 Saturday evening, hitting a solo shot and two doubles in Seattle's 7-6 victory over Oakland. He also scored twice, including the winning run on a wild pitch with two outs in the ninth inning.
Fantasy Implications: Segura had been scuffling in his ten games prior to entering Saturday night's gem. He was hitting a poor .136/.191/.159, going 6-for-44 in that stretch, with only one stolen base and zero RBIs. Manager Scott Servais praised the 27-year-old shortstop saying, "He was aggressive on the bases, was driving the ball, made great plays at shortstop. We're a different ballclub when he plays that way. Outstanding game from him today." Segura is still has a .302 AVG for the year with 19 stolen bases. Perhaps Saturday's performance will jumpstart Segura into playing has he did prior to his recent slump.
