Andrew Albers (2-0) allowed four runs (three earned) on six hits while walking one over 5.0 innings to chalk up the win in Seattle's 6-5 victory over the Braves on Monday. He also struck out three.
Fantasy Implications: Albers has collected wins in each of his two starts since being called up to Seattle from Triple-A Tacoma. He has been filling in for James Paxton who is on the disabled list for a strained left pectoral muscle, and currently on a rehab assignment. Albers was recently acquired by the Mariners in a trade with Atlanta on August 11. The 31-year-old southpaw now sports a 3.60 ERA and 1.40 WHIP over 10.0 innings of work. Fantasy owners should consider Albers only as a stopgap until Paxton is reactivated. Albers' middling 6.3 K/9 and 87.6 mph average fastball suggest owners may want to avoid him altogether.
