James Paxton (12-5) was tagged with the loss after surrendering two runs on four hits and two walks over 3 2/3 innings in Seattle's 4-2 defeat to the Rangers on Thursday night. He struck out four.
Fantasy Implications: Paxton is still trying to shake off the rust since coming back from an extended stay on the disabled list due to a left pectoral injury. In his two starts since being activated, the 28-year-old southpaw is 0-2, having yielded five earned-runs on eight hits and four walks over five innings. The plan is for Paxton to make two more starts before the season ends. Despite the two poor starts, Paxton sports a fine 3.03 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 10.3 K/9 for the 2017 campaign. His next scheduled start is Tuesday against the Athletics in Oakland.
