Mike Leake (10-12) surrendered one run on five hits and one walk over 5 2/3 innings in Seattle's 8-1 win over the Rangers on Wednesday. He also struck out five.
Fantasy Implications: Leake was one out away from logging his third
straight quality start, but was lifted after throwing 90 pitches, and
surrendering an RBI single to Robinson Chirinos. The 29-year-old right-hander appears rejuvenated, winning all three of his starts since coming over to Seattle via a trade with the Cardinals on August 30. While donning a Mariner uniform, he has posted a solid 2.41 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 17/2 K/BB over 18.2 innings. Leake looks to keep rolling when he is next scheduled to toe the rubber on Tuesday against the Rangers at Safeco Field.
