Semyon Varlamov makes 20 saves
Semyon Varlamov stopped 20 of 23 shots to pick up the win in the Avalanche's 6-3 victory over the Boston on Wednesday.
Fantasy Implications: Varlamov has played well to start the season, recording a 3-0 record with a 1.67 GAA and .945 save percentage (86 saves on 91 shots). The 29-year-old goalie is considered Colorado's No. 1 netminder, with Jonathan Bernier being his backup. Injuries limited Varlamov to only 24 games last season, and he will probably make less then the 55-plus starts he has been accustomed to in the past. Though Varlamov is capable of a bounce-back campaign, fantasy owners should not expect top-tier numbers, as the Avalanche did not make major improvements from last campaign's dreadful club.

Cory Schneider makes 47 saves
Cory Schneider stopped 47 of 50 shots to pick up the win in the Devils 6-3 victory over the Maple Leafs on Wednesday.
Fantasy Implications: Schneider has been superb to start the season, recording a 3-0 record with a 2.00 GAA and .948 save percentage making 110 saves on 116 shots. The 31-year-old goalie is New Jersey's unequivocal No. 1 netminder, and should be making his usual 60-plus starts. Behind a revitalized club, look for Schneider to improve on last year's 20-27-11 record, 2.82 GAA and .908 save percentage.

Brandon Saad nets goal on Tuesday
Brandon Saad scored a goal in Chicago's 3-1 win over the Canadians on Tuesday. He finished the night with a plus-1 rating and two blocked shots.
Fantasy Implications: Saad's return to Chicago after a two-year stint with the Blue Jackets has been nothing short of sensational. He has seven points (five goals and two assists) and a plus-7 rating through four games. The 24-year-old left wing has thus far been a key member of Chicago's formidable first line along with Jonathan Toews and Richard. His 18:51 average time on ice and 3:35 average power-play time on ice bodes well for a productive 2017-18 campaign. Fantasy owners should expect Saad to have no problem registering a fourth straight 50-plus point season.

Fantasy Implications: Crawford was outstanding as he outdueled Canadian's netminder Carey Price. Crawford slammed the door shut on Montreal after surrendering an early goal at 1:15 of the first period to Tomas Plekanec, and despite being outshot 42-to-15. The 32-year-old goalie has won each of his first three games to start the season, and sports a stellar 1.00 GAA and .971 save percentage. He now has a career 8-0-2 record against Montreal.
